Welcome to the Cooperative of Professional Nuclear Engineers (CPNE) website.

The Korean government has recently shifted its energy policy towards supporting nuclear power, with a goal of increasing the proportion of nuclear power generation to 30% of domestic energy demand and exporting 10 nuclear power plants by 2030. As countries that classify nuclear power as clean energy seek to introduce new nuclear power plants in an effort to achieve carbon neutrality, it is expected that a new era of nuclear power expansion will begin. The Korean nuclear industry has the opportunity to capture a share of the market by exporting nuclear power plants built with its renowned nuclear technology.

CPNE is a business entity composed of highly skilled nuclear expert members who have contributed to the localization of nuclear technology in Korea. The organization operates independently, voluntarily, and autonomously, and serves as a brain pool and a technology platform for its members to share and transfer their valuable experiences and expertise in the field of nuclear technology.  I am confident that our members' valuable experience and expertise will continue to be in demand for the advancement of nuclear technology in the Republic of Korea.

Due to the retirement of the baby boomer generation and the former government's denuclearization policy, the domestic nuclear industry is facing a rapid decline in the number of highly qualified nuclear engineers. The CPNE can help address this imbalance in the supply and demand of experienced nuclear engineers in the short term and can contribute to the development of future nuclear technology to strengthen competitiveness in the mid to long term.

By acting as a bridge between young nuclear engineers and experienced experts who contributed to the localization of nuclear technology in Korea, the CPNE can help the nuclear industry reduce trial and error in engineering and contribute to the development of sustainable nuclear technology.
